Tuesday, 11/24/15- A Day

Learning Objectives:

  • Gases and liquids are made of molecules or inert atoms that are moving about relative to each other.
  • In a liquid, the molecules are constantly in contact with others; in a gas, they are widely spaced except when they happen to collide. In a solid, atoms are closely spaced and may vibrate in position but do not change relative locations.

Learning Activities:

  1. Do Now– Get out your science notebook and open to pages 28-29; On a slip of paper, write down three things that you’ve learned about matter in its three states (solid, liquid, gas); Solve the Rebus Puzzles.
  2. Review HW– Take It Further- Balloons
  3. Graphic Organizer– Comparing States of Matter
  4. Organize your notebook! Trim and tape the handouts that we have been doing to pages 34-39.
