Remember: As long as you act like a scientist when we do science, you will be treated like a scientist and conduct investigations. If not, you get to watch the rest of us do science.

Learning Objective:

The changes of state that occur with variations in temperature or pressure can be described and predicted using models of matter

Learning Activities:

  1. Do Now– Copy down today’s homework assignment in your planner; Get out your experimental plan on lined paper; Read the key question, problem statement, hypothesis, and procedure that you wrote on lined paper.
  2. Experiment– How can you make ice melt faster? Model example of procedure & point out where supplies are. Review science lab safety regulations and choose table group member responsibilities. Complete Lab Safety Checklist- “Before You Begin.” Do the lab and conduct the investigation! Complete Lab Safety Checklist- “After Lab is Completed”

Science Notebook due on Friday, 1/15/15
