Remember: As long as you act like a scientist when we do science, you will be treated like a scientist and conduct investigations. If not, you get to watch the rest of us do science.

To plan an investigation that identifies factors that determine the friction force between two objects

  1. Do Now- Get out your science notebook (page 75) and your Shipping & Sliding Experiment handouts; Read the Procedure that your wrote on the Shipping and Sliding Experiment handout; Observe the print “Relativity” by M. C. Escher and answer the questions.
  2. Science FridayBirdie in Flight: The Science of Badminton
  3. Experiment– Shipping and Sliding (Friction)- Review of lab safety expectations & cooperative table group member responsibilities (full class). Conduct your experiment and record your data in the data table (cooperative table groups).
