Wednesday, 3/16/16- B Day- Science CMT (Special Schedule)

Remember: As long as you act like a scientist when we do science, you will be treated like a scientist and conduct investigations. If not, you get to watch the rest of us do science.

Learning Objective:

To plan an investigation that identifies factors that determine the friction force between two objects

Learning Activities:

  1. Do Now– Copy down today’s homework assignment in your planner; Get out your science notebook and add to the Table of Contents- “Shipping Conclusion p.74” (Left Side); Head page 74 properly with “Shipping & Sliding-Conclusion-3/16/16.”
  2. Experiment– Shipping and Sliding (Friction)- Consider what kind of graph is most appropriate and plot appropriate and accurate data that will lead toward a conclusion. What conclusion can you make based on your data? Write a brief report on p.74 describing your experiment, your findings, and how they compare to your prediction.

  • Complete graph due tomorrow, 3/17
  • Science Notebook due Friday, 3/18
