Friday, 5/20/16- A Day

Learning Objective:

  • To ask questions that arise from careful observation of phenomena and define design problems that can be solved through the development of an object, tool, process, or system

Learning Activities

  1. Do Now– Head the MythBusters Student Peer Review Sheet with your name, date, and period you have science; Use the formula for distance to solve the following problem: On the highway, a car drove at 13 m/s for 120 seconds. How far did it travel?
  2. Check HW-Brainstorm a diagram to show one of Newton’s Law of Motion and write a caption to explain your diagram
  3. Educational video– Myth Busters- Can a box of tissues really hurt someone in a high speed car collision?- Complete a peer review of the things that the MythBusters do in their science investigations. You will evaluate the following scientific skills- develop the questions, state the hypothesis, design the investigation, gather data, interpret data, evaluate evidence, communicate science, & analyze alternative explanations.
