Thursday,5/26/16- A Day

Remember: As long as you act like a scientist when we do science, you will be treated like a scientist and conduct investigations. If not, you get to watch the rest of us do science.

Learning Objectives:

  • To determine the motion of an object by the sum of the forces acting on it
  • To relate mass and force to a change in motion

Learning Activities:

  1. Do Now– Copy down today’s homework assignment in your planner; Get out your science notebook and add to the Table of Contents- “Newton’s Laws 1 & 2 Conclusion p.104” (Left Side); Head page 104 properly with “Newton’s 1st & 2nd Laws-Conclusion-5/26/16.”
  2. Investigation Experiment– How does the sum of forces on an object or the mass of an object affect the object’s motion? Model procedure & data table. Review science safety expectations and cooperative group member responsibilities. Conduct investigation and record data in data table.

Homework:

Complete Forces and Motion Basics PhET simulation- due tomorrow 5/27
