Question:

How can a substance be both a liquid and a solid?

Learning Tasks:

  1. Do Now- Copy down today’s homework assignment in your planner. Here’s a quick test of intelligence. There are no tricks to the test, and it looks pretty simple. But let’s see how YOU do!Read this sentence:

    FINISHED FILES ARE THE RESULT
    OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC
    STUDY COMBINED WITH
    THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS.

Now count aloud the F’s in that sentence. Count them ONLY ONCE. Do not go back and count them again. What is your answer?

  2. Gallery Walk– Count off by the number of groups. All of the 1’s go to poster 1, 2’s go to poster 2, and so on. Each group will have a person who was from the group that made the model. Show your model and explain all the elements of the model. As a class, find similarities and differences and record these on the handout. If something is repeated several times, that is important!
