How is energy getting into the cup, if not from collisions with air?
- Do Now– Get out your ISN and open to page 42. Check your data table. Have you filled in the times on row 1? Did you fill in the conditions in the first column?
- Blocking the Energy Investigation– Review Data Table and revise the group procedure, if necessary. Copy the procedure on ISN p.42. Before beginning lab, review Science Safety Regulations and complete Lab Safety Checklist- Before You Begin. Also review Group Member Responsibilities. Carry out the investigation according to the procedures you developed. Calculate the temperature change over the time period of the investigation for each condition. Record your results in your notebooks. Discuss: What can you figure out from the data? Did you answer the investigation question?
