Lesson Question

How does friction influence the amount of force needed to move an object?

Learning Tasks

  1. Do Now– Copy down your Home Learning tasks in your planner. Get out your science notebook and add to the Table of Contents- “Friction CER p.76 (Left Side). Head page 76 properly with “Friction-Claim Evidence Reasoning-6/3/19.”
  2. Claim Evidence Reasoning (CER)– Make a graph of the friction investigation results on graph paper. Set up ISN p.76 for a CER. Claim: What does the graph show- Evidence (from the data)- Reasoning (connect evidence to the claim). Tape the graph as a flip page to ISN p.76.
  3. Navigation Routine– Looking back- What did we just do? What did we figure out last time? Looking forward- What are our next steps? What is one question we need to address? What direction do we need to pursue?
  4. Driving Question Summary Table– Complete the DQST on ISN pgs. 70-71 for the Friction lab.
