Learning Tasks:

  1. Do Now– Please get out your ISN and copy down today’s Home Learning in your planner. Add to the Table of Contents: “Laser & Mirror Demonstration p.66” (Left Side). Head p.66 properly with “Laser & Mirror Demonstration-2/20/20.”
  2. Write-Pair-Share– Answer the following questions on ISN p.67: What do you think would cause differences in how the laser dot moved in the demonstration? How do you think the laser dot will move if we use a speaker to make different sounds? Why?
  3. Laser & Mirror Demonstration– Speaker- As we carry out our investigation, record our data on Part 2 of your handout. Make a claim from evidence on Part 4 of your handout.
  4. Rubric for Modeling Motion of an Object Making Sounds– Work with your partner to use the rubric to evaluate and revise your model.
  5. Notebook Work– Tape “How do instruments move when making sounds (vibrating)?” handout to ISN p.61. Tape “How do objects move when they make sounds?” (laser & mirror) handout as a flip page to ISN p.66.
