  2. Science FridayThe Joy of Cooking Asteroids
  3. Retrieval Practice- Practice bringing to mind and explaining science safety to your partner without the help of your safety regulations. Then look at the safety regulations and see what you missed.
  4. Assessment- Science Safety Quiz

Thursday, 10/4/18- A Day Block Schedule Periods 2, 4, 6, & 8

Learning Tasks:

  1. Do Now– What do you know about your own eyesight? After watching the video, what have you learned about your eyesight?
  2. Science Lab Safety Regulations– Safety is my number one concern and I am very serious about it. Go over the safety rules. Point out safety equipment & emergency shut-off in classroom. Tape safety regulations to inside of back cover of science notebook.
  3. Safety Contract- Complete the Lab Safety Contract form and take it home to be signed.
  4. What do you look like doing science? Draw a picture of yourself doing science in the box on page 5 using colored pencils.
  5. Science Safety Exit Slip Tweet– In 280 characters or less, answer one of the following questions:
    • Which science lab safety rule do you think is most important & why?
    • Invent an interesting science safety slogan.

Tuesday, 10/2/18- A Day- Early Dismissal Schedule (PLC)

Learning Tasks:

  1. Do Now Copy down today’s homework assignment in your planner. Get out your science notebook and add to the Table of Contents- “Lab Safety Challenge” p.13 (Right Side). Head p.13 properly with “Lab safety Challenge-10/2/18″.
  2. Take the Laboratory Safety Challenge– Watch the Flynn Scientific Safety Challenge video. On p.13 in your interactive science notebook, make a list of what NOT to do in a science lab.

  2. Retrieval Practice- Practice bringing to mind and explaining science safety to your partner without the help of your safety regulations. Then look at the safety regulations and see what you missed. (Collect science safety contracts/Check HW- ISN p.12 Science Safety Ad)
  3. Assessment- Science Safety Quiz
  4. What do you look like doing science? Draw a picture of yourself doing science in the box on page 5 using colored pencils.

    2. Safety Contract- Complete the Lab Safety Contract form and take it home to be signed. Complete trimming & taping safety regulations on inside back cover of ISN and questions 1-4 handout as flip page to ISN p. 11.
    3. Lab Safety Ad– On ISN p.12, create an ad with visuals and words, for one safety rule.
    4. Science Safety Exit Slip Tweet– In 140 characters or less, answer one of the following questions:
      • Which science lab safety rule do you think is most important & why?
      • Invent an interesting science safety slogan.
